Wandering Windsor VT

July 6, 2012

Had a chance to show some of my work in a gallery in Windsor, VT. We decided to combine hanging my pieces at the Nuance Gallery with other sites in the area.  I figured that it wouldn't take long to hang the work. It took a little longer than I thought due to a slight miscalculation on the weight of the largest piece. The result was the piece crashing to the floor in front of the gallery owner. Oops!

After the gallery, we headed for the Windsor Precision Museum. I couldn't help but think of Carl Chatham as we viewed the displays. What was a complete mystery to me, Carl would understand clearly. The museum featured some installations on the role of the facility in providing weapons for the Union army during the Civil War and some other displays relative to work done there during WWII.

Next stop was the Path of Life Sculpture Park. This was a large park along the Connecticut River.  More than a sculpture park, it was a place for solitude and meditation and for family events on the river.  The day we were there a drumming concert was schedules that night. The sculptures were not very impressive, but the sun was shining and it was a good afternoon to browse and enjoy the day.

One of the highlights of the park was the Respite Display we found in the shade of the woods ... which inspired Anne to become one with the art.

Anne's immersion into the world of art not only wore her out, it also built up a powerful thirst. Luckily, the park was located directly beside the Harpoon Brewery. We finished our adventure and our day there.
